  • No, we are an ecumenical Christian community comprised of many different Christian denominations and branches.

  • We can provide £100 in travel and accommodation support for attendees who are funding constrained and would greatly benefit from attending.

    Simply specify your need for accommodation support in your application and we will be in touch to confirm.

    We will provide reimbursement after the event when you submit the receipts.

  • Effective altruism (EA) is the idea of using reason and evidence to find the very best ways to do good, and to take action on that basis. It is also a movement that has formed around this idea. CFI / EA for Christians engages as the Christian voice within the broader secular EA movement.

  • We’re keen to have Christians using reason and evidence to tackle pressing problems, and we recognize our list is not comprehensive. We encourage you to come; however, we expect most of the value will be for Christians who are at least interested in or sympathetic to our cause areas.

  • We cannot sponsor visas.

    We will not have online attendees; however, we will likely post most talks afterwards to Youtube.

  • If you're travelling to the UK from overseas, you may need a visa. Most people attending a conference apply through the Standard Visitor route, but the rules, fees and processing times vary depending on where you're travelling from. Please check the official guidance on GOV.UK for your country rather than relying on third-party sites, and apply as early as you can, as processing can take several weeks.

    What we can't do: we're a small team and we can't guarantee support with visa requests. We're not able to advise on individual applications, sponsor visas, or cover any costs. Registering for the conference doesn't guarantee a visa will be granted. If your application is unsuccessful, just email us and we'll refund your ticket.

    What we can do: if an invitation letter would help your application, please draft a simple letter and email it to us at christiansforimpact@gmail.com. We'll take a look and, where we're able to, sign it and send it back. Do give us as much notice as possible.
