For Such a Time as This: Christians and AI Risk
San Francisco | October or November 2026 | Tickets $50
What is AI risk?
Artificial intelligence may be the most transformative and most dangerous technology ever developed. From autonomous weapons to systems that could surpass human control, the risks are real.
Christians have always been called to engage the world as it is, not as we wish it were. This is a moment that demands our attention.
What attendees do
💬 Discuss what AI risk means for humanity and what a faithful Christian response looks like.
🎯Explore how your career, skills, and resources can be directed toward reducing the most serious risks from AI.
🙌 Share faith and encouragement with others who are wrestling with the same questions, “spurring one another on toward love and good deeds” (Hebrews 10:24-25).
United by faith in Jesus…
We gather as Christians from diverse backgrounds to ask together: what does God call us to do in this moment?
We'll explore pressing questions including:
🤖 How dangerous is AI, and what do we actually know?
✝️ What does Scripture and Christian tradition say about technology, power, and human dignity?
🌍 What can individuals do — through their careers, donations, and influence — to reduce AI risk?
🏛️ How should Christians engage policy, industry, and the church on this issue?

Effective altruism (EA) is the idea of using reason and evidence to find the very best ways to do good, and to take action on that basis. It is also a movement that has formed around this idea. CFI / EA for Christians engages as the Christian voice within the broader secular EA movement.
