Effective Missions Retreat

Three days in Texas with Christians thinking seriously about how to do missions well.

September 25–27, 2026 | Texas | Free | Housing provided through the morning of September 28

This retreat is a gathering of Christians ready to explore questions like:

  • What would a Christian GiveWell look like?

  • What are the bottlenecks for funding and research in missions?

  • What should be on an effective missions research agenda?

We’ll hear from experts in the field, including Lane Kipp (All Access International), Brian Grasso (Simple Charity), and Andy Chrismer (author of the CFI Missions Report).

Here's what to expect

💬 Working sessions and expert talks on the biggest open questions about effective missions.

🎯Lightning talks. Every attendee is welcome to give one, on effective missions or any adjacent topic in effective altruism. Bring something you've been thinking about.

🙌 Worship, prayer, long conversations and meals together. This is a retreat, not just a workshop.

Goals:

  • Friendships with other Christians in effective altruism

  • A clearer picture of the highest-impact giving opportunities, in missions and beyond.

  • Seed a new Christian GiveWell project with a 10k seed grant
